Program Questions

Where are you located?

All programs are held at the newly renovated Cambridge Sports Park. Please look under our "Contact" tab for directions to the facility.

How do I know what class to register my child in?

If you are returning and your child successfully completed a level, they will move to up to the next level. Non-successful completion would result in repeating the same level. If you are a new registrar, please look at class descriptions or email: steve@insideedgeskating.ca.

What if I registered my child for the wrong class?

Please get in touch with us and we can make a change for you promptly. If the class has started, do not worry. We assess all skaters on the first week and make any movements needed to best suit the participant.

What if I want to change days/time?

No problem! Please get in touch with our office to make the change.

What is Family Skate?

During the Fall and Winter sessions, we may offer a Family Skate during the last week of programs for the whole family to attend! It is an excellent opportunity to speak with instructors and get to know you better. More details during the session will be provided.

What is your make-up policy?

As we do not exceed our ratios, make-up classes for your child are not offered.

Equipment Questions

What type of skates do I buy?

It depends on the direction your child will take once he/she learns the fundamentals of skating. The two directions are Hockey or Figure Skating. The skates should be leather, with laces (no buckles or velcro) and proper ankle support. Please, ensure your child’s skates are sharpened before their first lesson if they have not been sharpened in a while or brand new out of the box.

What do I dress my child in for lessons?
We recommend wearing splash pants or snowsuit, to ensure your child stays dry and comfortable. In addition, mittens or gloves must be worn to keep your child’s hands warm and dry. Dark clothing is recommended as we use markers on the ice.

Does my child need a full face protection?
Yes! To avoid any potential injuries a FULL face shield or cage is mandatory for your child's helmet.

Do you rent skates?
No we do not. Having children skate in the same pair of skates each week is important to successful progression.

Does my child need full hockey gear to participate in a hockey program?
Yes! Besides Parent & Me prep it is important your child is protected in proper gear as they need to get use to skating in hockey gear.

Do you provide jerseys for youth hockey?
Hockey players are asked to wear their own favourite jersey to their lessons. We also have Inside Edge jerseys that are available to purchase during registration checkout!
